“Monette, and other historical/genealogical writers, alleged that Ann Hunt, daughter of Samuel Hunt was the (2) wife of Hezekiah Bonham, Sr.; however, further research indicates he married Mary Bishop, who was the daughter of David and Mary (Alger) Bishop. [See the Wills of David Bishop, 7 Jan 1683/4; John Bishop, 19 Sept 1684; Thomas Alger, 24 Jan 1687/8; Guardianship of Mary Bishop by Uncle Jonathan Bishop, 2 Dec 1695; Tombstone of Mary Bonham who died 1734.] Hezekiah married (2) in 1700 and in 1721 Samuel Hunt willed to his daughter Ann Hunt a mare which indicated she was unmarried at that time. By 1721, Hezekiah had several children by his second wife! Monnette is nollonger accepted by the Mayflower Sociey without additional substantiating evidence.” 82
